  • Capacidad personalizada disponible

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I match take-up capacity to my drawing machine?

Match it to the coil weight you actually handle. If the pay-off accepts 2.3 tons but the take-up fills at 800 kg, the line stops frequently. Line speed is also limited by the take-up, so an undersized take-up means the drawing machine never reaches its rated speed.

What is the difference between an I-wheel and an elephant trunk take-up?

An I-wheel take-up spools the finished wire onto a reel, which suits transport and storage. An elephant trunk take-up coils wire without a spool, which suits downstream processing where the coil is fed directly into another machine.

What spool sizes are available?

I-wheel take-up machines are available in 400, 630, 800 and 850 mm reel sizes, and vertical I-wheel units up to 1150 mm for large spools and heavy coils. The right size depends on the coil weight you need to handle.

Do I need equipment to move full spools?

Yes. A large vertical take-up produces a spool that needs handling equipment to move. If you do not have that equipment, a smaller I-wheel machine is the practical choice even where a larger one would be more efficient.

Can the take-up run continuously with the drawing machine?

It can, provided capacities are matched and the take-up speed follows the line speed. Tension control between the drawing machine and take-up matters, particularly on fine wire.

Is the take-up supplied with the drawing machine or separately?

Either. Take-up and pay-off equipment can be specified as part of a complete line or supplied separately to match a machine you already have. Give us the existing machine specification so the interface matches.
